Kathie was motivated to join Chelsea Wellness Center one year ago to improve her health and lose weight. She had been so devoted to taking care of others, she felt like she didn’t take enough time to care for herself. Kathie wanted to make changes to improve her life and manage the pain from her joints due to Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Kathie works very hard and performs a variety of workouts at the Wellness Center. Some days, she likes to walk the track and use the octane cardio machines. Other days, she likes to use the pool to work out because the additional resistance from the water adds a little extra to her exercises. She tries hard to do strength training at least once a week, either in the pool or on the fitness floor.
By taking advantage of everything available at the Wellness Center and participating in all of the contests, she has improved her health and lost weight. She’s found a sense of accomplishment. Most importantly, she is grateful to relieve her joint pain, lower her blood pressure and beat the depression that took ahold of her when she retired and moved to Michigan. Coming to the Wellness Center, Kathie found encouragement, friendship, proper instruction for working out safely, and success.
When asked what her advice would be regarding health and fitness Kathie says, “Start slowly with a goal you can achieve. Then, stack up all the small successes you can. Before you know it, you will have achieved great things.”
