Gigi became a member of the Wellness Center back in 2010. She wanted a gym that offered a fun, but motivating environment to help achieve her fitness goals. She has been living in Manchester since 1988. Some of her hobbies include; her Bible Study, learning about other country’s cultures and traditions, and reading. If you see her on a treadmill at the Wellness Center, you better believe she has a book in front of her.
Before Gigi starts her workout, she likes to say hello and catch up with the trainers on the floor. Her normal routine is to start on either the treadmill or elliptical (with one of her books of course). She then moves on to the free weights and strength machines to work her arms and legs. She hopes to get into more of her free weight lifts again soon.
Just last year, Gigi had a couple of surgeries that unfortunately kept her from coming into the Wellness Center. While sitting at home, she realized how much she missed coming in. She really missed the camaraderie and uplifting support everyone gave her while working out. Once healthy, she was super excited to get back and see everyone.
The staff at the Wellness Center is what she likes most. She loves that the trainers are willing to help with any questions, and thinks of them as family. She enjoys seeing the people that she sees on a regular basis. She also loves the trainer’s encouragement and motivation to push her to complete each workout.
Her advice about health and fitness is first, never give up. There are days when you want to do nothing, but even a small, quick workout is better than nothing. Second, always ask questions. The trainers are there to help you. Just let them know how they can help. And thirdly, smileJ. It will make you and the people around you feel good.
What motivates Gigi is her health. She wants to feel good now, next week, and into the future. She also wants to be around and to set a good example for her children.
Since joining, Gigi feels good about herself. The time at the Wellness Center is a great way to start her day. Working out and laughing with friends, are great ingredients for happiness. Keep smiling Gigi, you’re inspiring to us all!
