We Know that a sedentary life style can put us at risk for serious health issues such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. We also know that it can be overwhelming to join a gym and get started on an exercise program. The Next Steps Fitness Programs at the Chelsea and Dexter Wellness Centers provide you with the support of degreed and qualified fitness specialists to help you take steps towards a healthier you. A fitness program does not have to be complex or overwhelming, 30 minutes of activity a day can provide positive steps toward a healthier you. Our fitness specialists will develop an eight week exercise program for each participant. Participants have access to strength training equipment, cardio equipment, warm therapy pool, lap pool, and group exercise classes including aqua, land Yoga and Pilates.
Whether you need to reduce specific health risk factors, manage a disease such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, pulmonary or respiratory conditions, or manage a reoccurring injury after completing rehabilitation, the Next Steps Fitness Program is geared to meet you at your current fitness level. We consistently see improvement in blood pressure, weight, resting heart rate, strength, cardio fitness, and flexibility from our Next Step participants in just 8 weeks. All that is needed to start in the Next Steps Program is a referral from a health care provider, a willing spirit, and a pair of gym shoes.
