DESCRIPTION:Employs traditional and micro-movement exercises for gentle joint mobilization and core strengthening. Builds torso strength and increases flexibility through a series of gentle floor exercises. NOTE: We advise taking Beginning and Level I classes to establish an understanding of Pilates technique prior to taking Level II classes.

SUMMARY:Self Defense Class for Women
DESCRIPTION:This ninety-minute session introduces women to basic strategies for personal self-defense. The course is conducted by longtime Wellness Center member Len Niehoff\, who holds a third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do\, has studied other martial arts\, and has trained hundreds of women in these techniques. \nThe course is designed to be fun and memorable and to work for women with a wide variety of fitness levels. Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing\, athletic shoes and no jewelry. He is joined by co-instructor Alison Mondul who holds a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. \nMr. Niehoff provides this training on a voluntary basis\, and asks participants to make a small donation to Safe House (domestic abuse shelter) in Ann Arbor as payment for participating. Donations will be collected at the time of registration. \nLimited space.  Registration required. Sign up at the member service desk or call (734) 214-0220.
