This ninety-minute session introduces women to basic strategies for personal self-defense. The course is conducted by longtime Wellness Center member Len Niehoff, who holds a third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, has studied other martial arts, and has trained hundreds of women in these techniques.
The course is designed to be fun and memorable and to work for women with a wide variety of fitness levels. Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing, athletic shoes and no jewelry. He is joined by co-instructor Alison Mondul who holds a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Mr. Niehoff provides this training on a voluntary basis, and asks participants to make a small donation to Safe House (domestic abuse shelter) in Ann Arbor as payment for participating. Donations will be collected at the time of registration.
