Chelsea Wellness Center offers an exclusive aquatic area with many programs for members to enjoy. Our beautiful center includes a 25-yard lap pool along with a warm water therapy pool. Our aquatic area and certified instructors offer the perfect platform for many unique classes and programs.
Whether you want to learn how to swim, improve your stroke efficiency, increase the productivity of your aquatic workout or add variety to your routine, we can help. The one-on-one sessions will be designed by a qualified instructor to assist you in reaching your individual goals. You will feel confident and safe in the water while improving your stroke and increasing your muscular strength and endurance. You can also receive lessons with a friend with our Buddy swim session option as well. Both the one-on-one and the buddy lessons are available for members and non-members.
This course is for those who are already somewhat comfortable treading or swimming in deep water. The goal is to learn the freestyle from the ground up, starting with the basics: floating face down, moving up to and maintaining horizontal body position, and creating forward momentum by adding the flutter kick and arm strokes. Through a series of drills, we will learn to maintain a correct, streamlined body position while practicing stroke mechanics and building endurance. Held in the Lap Pool.
This class will take place in the therapy pool.
This class is for toddlers ages 0 – 2 who need an adult to be with them in the water. This class will have a focus on water safety and will primarily feature songs and games with a parent or guardian in the pool with them.
This class will take place in the therapy pool.
This class is for all students aged 3 as well as students ages 4 – 5 who are new to swimming, or who get nervous in the water. Class will focus on kicking, floating, and blowing bubbles.
This class will take place in the therapy pool.
This class is for students ages 4 – 5 who are comfortable putting their face in the water as well as any students ages 6 – 8. Class will focus on kicking and scooping independently, going underwater, and water safety.
This class will take place in the lap pool.
This class is for students ages 9 – 14 who are able to swim independently but have not mastered any swimming strokes. This class will focus on developing stroke techniques and going underwater in the deep end.
This class will take place in the lap pool.
This class is for students ages 15+ who are interested in swimming for fitness. This class will be an hour long and take place in the lap pool. Swimmers of all levels are welcome, but students should be able to swim one lap before participating and be comfortable
